Sergei Bondarchuk Grant and NYFA Training

In November 2012, I was awarded the Sergei Bondarchuk Grant for a film concept based on the novel “The Garden of Hieronymus Bosch.”

As a result, I completed a 4-week screenwriting course at The New York Film Academy (NYFA), delivered in collaboration with the Higher School of Journalism.

Course: “Modern Concepts of Screenwriting and Pitching” / Modern Concepts of Screenwriting and Pitching

Produced Film Project

In 2013–2014, I worked as one of the screenwriters on the TV series “The Dead Lake” (directed by Roman Prygunov). The series was filmed several years after my departure from the project. Some characters and narrative decisions originally proposed by me remained in the final version of the script. My name does not appear in the final credits, but my involvement can be confirmed by the core project team.

Commissioned but Unrealised Film Projects

Gunslinger 1880.
TV series.
6 episodes
In 2020–2021, I wrote the screenplay for a six-episode series, “Gunslinger 1880,” an eastern-style western set in Siberia, centred on a generation and the supernatural events surrounding them. The script was commissioned by producer Vladimir Dubrovin, later translated into English, and pitched to HBO. As of now, production has not commenced.
Phantom.
Mini-series.
4 episodes
In 2018, I wrote the screenplay for a four-episode mini-series, “Phantom,” a supernatural detective story about an immortal character capable of “substituting” himself for victims and dying in their place. The script was based on my short story “A Scene for John Doe” and was commissioned by producer Vladimir Dubrovin. As of now, production has not commenced.
The Priest’s Catalogue.
TV film.
2 episodes
In 2018, I wrote the screenplay for a two-part television film, “The Priest’s Catalogue,” based on my short story “The Killinsby Catalogue.” The project was commissioned by producer Viktor Mitrofanov and acquired by the TV channel TV-3. As of now, production has not commenced.

In 2017, I wrote several versions of the first episode of the second season of the series “Gogol”, as well as a full-season synopsis. Unfortunately, they were not accepted by the producing broadcaster.

The Persistence Project

Moscow
Scriptwriter, Director

In 2015, I assembled a small team and we developed a feature film project titled “Persistence.” I wrote the screenplay for the film based on my short story “The Photographer” and directed the trailer.

Technical specifications:

  • running time: 90 minutes
  • number of scenes: 80
  • number of locations: 31
  • leading roles: 3
  • supporting roles: 14
  • extras: 15–30 people
  • shooting days: 32

Synopsis:

A professional runner and model known as the Runner meets a Photographer, who proposes a joint project. During their collaboration, the Runner visits one of the Photographer’s exhibitions, where the central figure is Anna (the only character whose name is mentioned in the film). Something compels the Runner to begin searching for Anna—but neither the information provided by the Photographer nor his own investigation leads anywhere. It seems as though Anna existed only when the Photographer was capturing her. But if she is a phantom, then who is the Runner himself?

The project was presented at several pitching sessions. Due to technical reasons, the feature film was not produced.

Appearances in Advertising

In 2014, I passed casting and appeared in a viral commercial for Velkopopovický Kozel titled “Day of the Goat,” playing one of the junior stylists for the goat. I appear at the 9th second and remain on screen throughout the rest of the video:

I have also occasionally worked as a presenter in short YouTube videos. For example, a video about levitation devices::
